So Winter Happened. Haven't Done Much To The Sneaker, But We Did Go On A Road Trip! On Our Way Home We Dropped By The Tail Of The Dragon. Ever Been?

I didn't have the Eclipse Spyder ready for the trip so we took the Girlfriend's '13 GTI. It's the car that inspired me to get the GST and they have similar performance levels...and I wouldn't have had the top down anyway. Maybe we'll go again this coming Spring. I've been itching to go white water rafting and stay in the Wigwam Motel again...so we'll see!

Now, understand that even though I chose to drive at just around the speed limit I STILL CAUGHT UP TO TRAFFIC!  This is a public road used by locals as well as enthusiasts (some more enthusiastic than others!).  Rule number ONE here should always be Don't Cross The Double Yellow Line.  I chose not to speed to show that this can be a fun drive even without driving like mad.  Note that I generally did not slow for the corners.  Even at the speed limit some of these corners are really tight and I had to slow a little.  The Tail Of The Dragon is NOT the end all be all of driver's roads (highway 1 between Hardy and Legget in California kicks it's butt!) but it is easily accessible by a large swath of the midwest and east coast.  Also note the police officer stationed at the North end.  This is a great place to get a ticket.
